I disagree. Interestingly enough I did a report on this very subject in my Pub. Comm class. Nintendo claims that AoL was their attempt to integrate FF tactics into an already great game. They blame the RPG style for the games failure. Perhaps many people felt that the side scrolling feature was to blame (I hardly noticed it myself)...
although to be fair, LttP got rid of both side scrolling and the RPG stuff, so maybe it was a mixture of both.

I don't know if you guys remember, but this game crashed and burned, and almost took the whole Zelda series with it. But they blamed the crashing and burning on the RPG style so I doubt that anything like that will be happening again in the future...although this four swords business comes pretty close.... Yeah I didn't care much for Adventure of Link. I really don't know what they were thinking when they made it. I guess they wanted to try something different. As for The Four Swords, I didn't much care for it either. It just wasn't the same for the graphics especially after playing Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

It was an interesting idea that they had though....Now if they will only make multi player in 3-D....Hmmm, think of the possibilities!!!

Now that would be very interesting to see and play. I'm not really quite sure how they would do that, but it would be an experience to find out.

I thought AOL was GREAT ! I liked the up stab an down stab ! The fighting in that game was great ! mi family found it sooooooo hard at first, especially locatin the heart / magic containers, and the Valley of Death - route to Grand Palace !
PLaying it again older, I thought it was a great game, I think Nintendo fancied a change for their sequels - look at Mario 2 ! ALthough I found Mario 2 to be quite dire with the silly potion and root throwing ! Zelda 2 was challengin and "different"
Hmm, didnt like that silly Ganon laugh very much tho ! Very irritating when you had just died !

Yes Adventure of Link was very boring. Unless it feel like wasting some time, then I wouldn't worry too much about playing this game and having a fun time.

Ooh, what a thoughtful post. I LOVE this game. It's a HUGE classic. It has WAY more towns than any of the others. The Overworld is MUCH larger, wilder and more dangerous. It's MUCH harder. The newer games (especially TWW) are rediculousy easy.
