BLADEMASTER CHRONICLES
The rain lashed at the windows, and every now and then the ominous sound of thunder cracked. Lightning whipped through the night, giving light for only a fraction of a second. It was long enough to see the cloaked and hooded figures descending upon the village. Screams and the sound of battle soon disturbed the silence between thunder and lightning. Women and children were viciously murdered while husbands and fathers fought to save them. Fires began to light up the gruesome scene as homes began to catch the flames. Young girls were bound and taken, going to a far worse fate. Small and few escaped the unjust wrath of the barbarians. A young boy ran with his mother to escape. Tripping, he fell into a dark ravine. The men caught hold of his mother, and murdered her in front of his sight. His father charged upon the scene, determined to save his child, but he too soon fell, after taking four of the barbarous men with him. Laughing, they left the boy to death. An older boy appeared, and attempted to rescue the lad, but an arrow pierced his brother’s heart. The town burned around the youth, and the lightning seemed relentless in its glee, the thunder it’s laughter echoing out of a cruel and callous night.
“NO!” The youth, now a man, awoke in a cold sweat. Rising, he strode to the window, and looked upon a sky similar to that night long ago. Going to the basin, he splashed cool water upon his face. Looking up into the mirror revealed a tall man, with hazel eyes and dark brown unkempt hair. A hidden strength seemed to emanate from him, and he looked as though the years weighed heavily upon his countenance. “Well, time to begin a new day…” Getting dressed, he half stumbled, half walked down the stairs.
More on the way. See what happens....
