Aramir is right. People will do it, and guns are the tools. But I still stand by my previous statement....Many people'd find a way to import them illegally. Besides, we'd have to alter the Constitution. We have a Right to bear arms.

Have any of you ever seen 'Bowling for Columbine' by Michael Moore?
It's a movie documentry. Michael Moore is an very anti-gun, and he makes great arguements for getting rid of them. He talked to some real gun fanatics and left them with nothing to say. I really like him, and I think that America should listen to what he has to say.
Watch it yourself, and tell me that it's still a good idea to keep guns on the streets.

Bowling for Columbine? Why yes, I’ve seen it. I thought it was a great documentary, and the statistics they managed to get for it were incredible, and a little disturbing.
I liked the way he showed how easy it was for people to obtain a fire arm, but it did kind of annoy me how he made every gun owner look like an idiot (but when in America, I guess it can't be helped) ;D
I guess it's wrong to say that there is a total gun ban in England. The ban only applies to guns over a certain calibre. I can't remember what that calibre is, but I know that nothing more powerful then an air gun is allowed without governmental consent. This means that some farmers are allowed to have shotguns, and that the armed police can have MP5's and Carbines.
But it is illegal for anyone other then law enforcement to have guns out on the street, either concealed or on show. It's the same principle for knives as well...you are not allowed to carry a knife with a blade bigger then 7 inches at your home (unless it's for ornamental or training purposes), and you are not allowed to carry any knife bigger then a pocket knife on your person.
Would a system such as this be acceptable for you in America? It certainly is here in England. Not an outright ban, but tighter restrictions, which is what Michael Moore is campaigning for.

I may just have to go out and rent it to see it for myself.

Rocklord: I really hope that those aren't your true feelings. There has got to be far better ways to protect yourself besides dressing up for war everytime you go outside...
Rauru and renewal: Yeah, make sure you see it! It has some really funny parts in it as well. ;D

I have not seen Bowling for Columbine, but I have seen his other documentaries and they were hilarious. I really don't like the guy though, he really made an anus of himself at the Academy Awards when he won the Oscar. And as for everyone being a moron here in the United States; yes most of us are, but at least we bathe on a regular basis and practice good hygiene... ;D

And as for everyone being a moron here in the United States; yes most of us are, but at least we bathe on a regular basis and practice good hygiene... ;D Are you trying to imply something Aramir? i.e. that the English lack good personal hygiene? If so, I beg to differ.

LOL, well, I'm sure not all Europeans smell bad, but the college professors that I have had that have been from Europe, all had a serious B.O. problem. Maybe they're just giving you guys a bad name.

Haha, well I don't smell bad, that's for sure. I shower every morning and bath every evining, I hate the smell of sweat >.<
Well, if none of you have seen Bowling for Columbine, I suggest that you do...and be sure to think long and hard about the issues it brings up before dismissing it.

I personally do, but I can think of some that don't. I'm not going to say any names, but I will say that I work with them/him.
