also i forgot to mention something. science is not a religion. science is science. evolution. now thats a religion. I hate to say it, but that is very simple minded of you rocklord...care to explain how my faith in science is any different from your faith in God/Jesus? We all have to realize that there are just some things that science has no answer for and there are some things that religion has no scientific answer for, therefore this debate could go on forever. Yes…it could. I tell you what, once you’re up in heaven and I’m down in hell, give me a call and I’ll admit that I was wrong. Deal? Both sides will always be in conflict. Atheists will say "show me proof", while religous people will say "prove me wrong". Bottom line, science cannot prove that there is not a God. Religion, for the most part, cannot prove (SCIENTIFICALLY) that there is a God. Well, there you go….the classic tale of the believers. True, we will never be able to prove you wrong, but can you prove yourself right? The word ‘proof’ is used way to often. Proof means ‘to remove all dought’…and that is something science never tries to do. But turn the questions around, so that it is the religious people who ask “show me proof”, and the Atheists say “prove me wrong”….then you get a most interesting situation indeed. Creationists believe that God has always existed and he created the universe, while science says that rocks, gas, dust, (The building blocks of the universe) have always existed and that they created the universe. Actually, I like to believe that matter always existed, and not rocks/gas/dust. They all came later. I actually like the theory about how the universe was created from it’s own destruction…you probably know more about this then I do thou. What happens if you believe in God, and when you die, you find out that there is no God? Asolutely nothing. You don't gain anything, you don't lose anything. What happens if you don't believe in God, and when you die, you find out that there is a God? What have you gained? Nothing. What have you lost? Everything. At last you said it. The “why not?” question. Well, I’ll tell you. Because religion has no useful place in the world anymore, besides stopping people from going mad at the thought that they will indeed die one day. Face it, the afterlife assumes that you basically live forever, which to me at least…is not appealing. I’d actually much rather have a definitive END to my existence thanks. It instills good morals and ethics Which have all been converted to law anyway, so that’s a rather pointless argument. And provides us with hope and love. …these are human traits…as are despair and hate. No one in history has ever been able to prove that the Bible is wrong. Many have tried. Many historic empires have tried to eradicate the Bible and its teachings, and yet it has prevailed. Voltaire said that Christianity would be dead by the 1850's, but yet it endures today. Firstly, Voltaire might have got the date wrong…but like all religions, just give it time. Christianity has already on it’s last legs in the middle east, and that used to be the most holy place for Christians in the world. Nothing lasts forever…one day, even science will cease. I both know, and accept this. Secondly, I never offered any real supported argument that the bible was false. I just gave my opinion about how parts of it might have been altered. I have nothing to back me up an on this, but I refuse to believe (even if I was a Christian) that the bible was 100% accurate. The bible you have in your room/school is a copy of a copy of a copy...ect. And the thing is, that when you make lot’s of copies of something, they start to degrade. Not necessarily on purpose mind you, but you can’t rule out at least human error. Not even monks are perfect you know. I’d like to finish up with this…this is sadly by ‘anonymous’, but it’s a fitting final statement. "The story of Zeus transforming himself into a swan so that he might couple with Leda, they call myth, but the tale about a holy ghost impregnating a virgin, they believe..."

ENDING STATEMENT: Science is a religion, they're called Scientologists. At any rate. Professional science guys believe in God. One man said, the more we discover, the more we know there has to be a God, b/c we could never have made it here through an accident. Besides, everyone has something to believe in. We should respect that and be done. Faith is believing in something, whatever it may be. We're all trying to find our way, so you might as well help your 'brother'. Peace out! al'Lan Mandragoran
