Hey I just read a great fantasy book called Sabriel by Garth Nix! Anyone else ever read it ? (I can tell we have some Wheel of time fans here - is that any good?)

Ah the Wheel of Time series has no equal.......if only he would stop wasting his time and publish the next book...
Haven't read Sabriel, but now I'm interested. Whats the main storyline?

k here's the blerb / blurb (?) from Sabriel
"Sabriel is the daughter of the Mage Abhorsen. Ever since she was a tiny child, she had lived outside the wall of theb Old Kingdom - far away from the uncontrolled power of Free Magic, and away from the Dead who won't stay dead.
But now her father is missing and Sabriel is called upon to crossback into that world to find him. Leaving the safety of the school she has known as home, Sabriel embarks upon a quest fraught with supernatural dangers, with companions she is unsure of - for nothing is as it seems within the boudary of the Old Kingdom. There she confronts an evil that threatens much more than her life, and comes face to face with her hidden destiny..."
It really is a great book ! I wanna be a writer and it inspired me to look at books in another angle. I dunno how "mature" wheel of time is but this is the first book I ever read with "A man with a throat slit open. lying on the ground" etc - its not bad really but a book that is not sugar coated... hmm interesting! - newayz the plot is better than that blerb makes out ! Mage is kinda innacurate - they deal in the art of death and its gates ! Different to anething else ive read!

huh....so they are. Thanks Lan.
And yes. He does need to move faster. MUCH faster. I'm not sure whether I'll kiss him or hit him if I ever meet Jordan.....probably both.

I'm thinking if you did that I'd have to hit him, and then shake his hand.

Maybe you should shake his hand first...You wouldn't want to be impolite.

Now that is a worthy ambition in life. And worth quite a reward to the person who makes it happen.....
